S | 12 | Final Portfolio Presentation
This is it. The final graded day of FDD. You’ll present your curated, critiqued portfolio to a small group, field questions at three different levels, and write a final reflection on your growth as a designer this year.
Bell Ringer (~10 min)
With a partner, rehearse your presentation once out loud: introduce yourself, highlight 2-3 pieces, explain your process, and close. Time yourselves. Aim for about 4 minutes.
Presentation Kickoff (~10 min)
Watch your teacher model a full sample presentation. Notice the structure: intro → 2-3 highlighted pieces → process → close. Review the 3 question levels your group will ask each presenter:
- Recall: “What tool did you use for this piece?”
- Analysis: “Why did you arrange/choose it that way?”
- Synthesis/Extension: “How would you change this piece for a different audience?”
Small-Group Presentations (~40 min)
In your small group, take turns presenting (~4 minutes each). After each presentation, the group asks one question at each of the 3 levels above. Presenters: answer specifically, citing your actual process, not “I don’t know, it just looked good.”
As an audience member: what made a classmate’s answer to an Analysis or Synthesis question genuinely convincing?
Final Reflection (~10 min)
Write a reflection citing two specific, concrete moments from your work this year. Not generic praise of yourself. For example: “In my Unit 4 stained-glass piece, I used the Pathfinder tool to merge overlapping shapes for the first time, and that’s the technique I reused in my Unit 11 packaging mockup.”

Save, Submit & Pack Up (~8 min)
Publish your work to your Google Sites Portfolio
- Create a new page on your Google Sites Portfolio to catalog your work.
- Your work should be exported in a web-safe format in a manner that allows for the work to be embedded without requiring Google Drive permissions
- Your work should be accompanied by a detailed project description
- Submit the published portfolio page to your LMS (Schoology)
🗂 Organize: Put your delivered presentation (observed) and your written final reflection in your binder. Save your final portfolio (link or screenshot) in the Photos folder of your Digital Design project folder on Google Drive.
