S | 12 | Production Book & Portfolio Capstone
This is the last deliverable of the year: a complete, bound record of how your Short Film actually got made, and a finished, public portfolio showing everything you built.
Project Briefing (~10 min)
Nothing new gets created today. Every section of the Production Book pulls from work you’ve already done, this is assembly and finishing, not a new assignment.
Review the required sections together:
- Contacts: your group’s contact information (real or fictional)
- Pre-Production: your script, storyboards, and purpose/description statement (7.1, 7.2)
- Art: your continuity photos and visual reference board (12.1)
- Rights & Clearances: your compiled attribution and release record (12.2)
- Production Plan: your call sheets and shooting schedule (7.3)
- Post-Production: your export/delivery log and shot list (Unit 9)
- Deliverables: where the final film lives, and confirmation it was submitted
- Self-Evaluation: each group member’s own rubric
Project Work Time (~23 min)
- Assemble each section in order, pulling directly from prior units’ work.
- Check for gaps: is any section missing a document it needs?
- Each group member completes the sections tied to their own crew role.
Which section of the Production Book took the most work to assemble, and why do you think that one specifically?
Studio/Project Work Time (~30 min)
Print, three-hole-punch, and bind the completed book. In parallel, finalize your portfolio site (12.4): confirm every project page is complete and the site is published.
Deliver, Export & Submit (~5 min)
Confirm your bound Production Book is complete, and that your portfolio site is published and accessible.
Publish your work to your Google Sites Portfolio
- Create a new page on your Google Sites Portfolio to catalog your work.
- Your work should be exported in a web-safe format in a manner that allows for the work to be embedded without requiring Google Drive permissions
- Your work should be accompanied by a detailed project description
- Submit the published portfolio page to your LMS (Schoology)
Complete your self-evaluation rubric individually.
🗂 Organize: Put your completed, bound Production Book in your binder. Save your finalized portfolio site link in the Documents folder of your Digital Design project folder on Google Drive.
